It's Just a BMX, Isn't It?

Many assumptions to the 20" inch wheel bmx bike is that they are all fit for every purpose, Though this is not the case. Bmx has a few different styles of riding wich can mean completely different configurations, bmx parts, and geometry. To aid you with understanding which one is the best for you, here is a breakdown of what we do and what they involve.

The Different Disciplines...

Although there are many ways and a few other types of riding, here is an overview of the main types that we do.

Dirt Jump Bikes

The classic dirt jump bike is the most simple of all bmx bike with light and long frames for more stability over bigger jumps and do not typically come with stunt pegs and have as little on them as possible to save weight. You would most commonly see a dirt bike with knobbly tyres for optimum grip on off-road surfaces and would not come complete with stunt pegs or a brake-detangle system, as skate-park and street oriented tricks are not applicable to this style of riding.

Street & Park BMX Bikes

Tough and as light as possible for more air and more tricks, these bikes are kitted out with many extras to give you the most for your riding experience. Averagely coming with smoother tread tires for better grip on asphalt and ramp these bikes can commonly be found with a rear brake detangling system which allows you to rotate the handlebars a full 360 degrees as many times in any direction as you like whilst still being able to operate the braking system. With many riders wishing to do grinds on rails and ramps you can also expect to see a pair if not four stunt pegs equipped on many park and street bikes to optimise your choice for tricks. Many skate park and street riders have their seat posts up a little bit higher to allow for better control whilst riding and also many of the bmx frames have shorter rear ends for easier control whilst riding various obstacles.
